WHAT’S ON: Summertime Events in July and August

Posted in Content Beauty

The British summertime continues, and with it the variety of fantastic wellbeing and cultural events on offer. There’s music too of course, as it’s festival season – and no one does festivals like the Brits! We’ve hand-picked some of the best happenings across the range so you don’t have to… add them your diary for July and August, pronto!

Throughout July and August, KITCHEN – Slow Food & Living Market at the Rosewood Hotel: We love a good weekend market! This one is hosted every Sunday between 10.30am and 3 pm and is endorsed by Slow Food UK and celebrates good, clean and fair produce from local growers and artisans – meaning the produce regional, fresh, responsibly grown and harvested, the meat is pasture raised and the fish is wild. We’re huge fans of the sense of community and traditional vibrant, marketplace feel.

19th July, WELLBEING – Roman Road Summer Festival: If there’s one thing we love, it’s scoring unusual finds at local markets! If you do too, check out the closing day of this festival, as there will be a craft market with some of the best local produce around including our very own Mai Vi, who you may recognise #FromtheShopFloor – she’ll be selling her beautiful artisanal hand-made soaps under the pseudonym ‘Organic Freak’. Plus there will be Asian food feast, magicians, Bollywood dancers and stilt walkers. Victoria Park is only down the road, too if you fancy  a rest afterwards.

4th July, KITCHEN – Hemsley + Hemsley at Sea Containers: Calling all foodies! We highly advise you to take a trip down to the Mondrian Hotel on the 4th of July, as healthy chefs Hemsley + Hemsley will be teaming up with award-winning Brooklyn-based chef, Seamus Mullen, to create a transatlantic menu on the day for brunch and dinner. Not only will the food be delicious, but the location by the river is utterly enchanting.

7th July, WELLBEING – The Art of Breathing Workshop: Want to be more in control of your life? Start with your breath. This transformative workshop, hosted by our resident yogi Michaela Olexova, it will teach you how you can use and harness the power of pranayama (yogic breathing) to take charge of your body and mind. Book now on

10th-12th July, WORLD – GoFest: Looking for a fun day out with the fam? GoFest in Surrey Park, has been dubbed a ‘sporting Glastonbury’ and will be brimming with sport, dance, health and fitness activities. There will be something for everyone!

23rd-27th July, WORLD – SomerSault Festival: Set against the beautiful backdrop of North Devon, this festival will appease thrill seekers, yoga bunnies, comfort creatures and theatre fanatics alike, with programmes including surfing, coasteering, yoga classes and wild runs. As for music, look out for chanteuse Flo Morrissey – one of our favourite musical discoveries of late (and a natural beauty to boot) and enjoy parties in the forest.

30th July, KITCHEN – Hemsley + Hemsley Supper Club with special guests: Our favourite sister duo in the food biz has taken up a residency at Paradise in Kensal Green and have been cooking up a storm. June dates have sold out and July tickets are selling like hot cakes, so grab them here while you still can:

Throughout July – KITCHEN – Tiosk: Tiosk opened in Broadway Market last November, but we’ve only had the pleasure of acquainting ourselves with it this summer and it’s been on our map ever since. Their speciality is fragrant teas – from green to white and oolong – but also extends to clean, delicious vegan and gluten free food. Personally, we love the matcha latte and breakfast bircher muesli pots. They also stock yummy raw desserts from The Hardihood. Worth a visit!

Throughout July – KITCHEN – The Hardihood: Are you a healthy foodie with a sweet tooth? You’d be delighted to know that there’s a new healthy sweet fix in town, which creates mouth-watering and beautiful delicious desserts, free from refined sugar, dairy, soy and gluten- often raw and vegan. Their creations taste good, look good and DO good. We sampled their maca and peanut butter protein balls at Tiosk and fell in love. Watch this space!

8th August, WELLBEING – Come and Find Your Balance at Wilderness Festival: Our August Guest Editor Eminé Ali Rushton, wellbeing expert and author of The Balance Body Diet Plan, a modern-day guide to Ayurveda, will be hosting a talk on the subject at Wilderness festival. In it, you’ll learn about your dosha type and how to balance your body and retune your mind by way of nutrition, wellbeing and balance. The session will begin and end with a meditation and breathing session, led by yoga teacher Selda Enver Goodwin. Book a spot on

6th-9th August, KITCHEN – Daylesford Cookery School at Wilderness Festival: We love a good festival, and Wilderness is high on the list for its family-friendly ethos, relaxed atmosphere, music and of course – the food. The Wilderness Chef’s Table is a dream come true for food lovers! This year, we’re loving the idea of sharpening our cooking skills with some brilliant chefs at the Daylesford Cookery School, in the heart of the festival.

12th August, WELLBEING – The Elixir Magazine Launch: We love the sound of this new wellness event to celebrate the launch of magazine Elixir, curated by Raw Fairies. The event is hosted at creative hub l’Klectik Café and Lab. If you love all that is natural and holistic, you’ll no doubt enjoy a flower crown workshop hosted by florist-to-the-stars Rowan Blossom, a yoga class with renowned yogi Nadia Narin and a ‘Meet the maker’ event with Michelle Roques O’Neil of Therapie. End the evening with an al fresco farm-to-table dinner with fresh seasonal produce. Get in there quick!

16th August, KITCHEN – Naturally Sassy Barre & Brunch with Sleek Technique: We’re often found poking around Saskia Gregson-Williams’ beautiful blog Naturally Sassy – so we were excited to hear about the launch of her brand new cookbook! To celebrate the launch, she has teamed up with Sleek Technique for a morning of brunch and ballet. After the class, Saskia will be sharing her story: from ballet dancer to healthy food blogger superstar, while enjoying her new healthy snacks. Get your tickets on

16th August, WELLBEING – Soul Sweat One-Day Urban Yoga Retreat: Don’t have the opportunity to go on a long retreat away from home? A one day immersion in the city could be all you need for clearing your mind and sweating out your stress, thanks to some meditation, psychology, yoga, coaching and transformation. The retreat will be hosted by yoga and nutrition teacher Julie Montagu and yoga-meditation teacher and psychotherapist Ashley Turner from 10am to 4pm at Beach Banket Babylon in Shoreditch.

28th-30th August, KITCHEN – The Big Feastival: Foodies, rejoice! Some of the UK’s biggest chefs have teamed up for a food extravaganza in the Cotsworld. From Jamie Oliver – the man behind the event – to Deliciously Ella, Natasha Corrett, Olivia Wollenberg and the Hemsleys, we trust there will be no shortage of delicious food. Oh and there will be music too! Family-friendly.

The wellbeing festival returns in September and this time, it’s hosted in London’s favourite foodie haunt Borough market, featuring lectures and demonstrations from our healthy foodie favourites Amelia Freer, Hemsley+Hemsley and Deliciously Ella as well as pop-ups of healthy eateries including The Good Life Eatery and Nama and fitness classes. 10th– 15th September, WELLBEING – Wild Rejuvenation Raw Food & Yoga Retreat: Delay your back-to-school duties and extend that carefree summer feeling just a little longer with this retreat hosted by Wild Food Cafe. Set in a stunning lake reserve in France, it will ‘fortify’ you for the winter months ahead with a host of wellbeing activities ranging from acro and vinyasa flow yoga, through to raw food preparation classes and sound healing.
