From learning how to enhance our brains and happiness to expanding our healthy cooking repertoire, find out where we’ll be enjoying the wonderful world of wellbeing in this month’s What’s On…

4th November: Vegan Paella workshop – Love Spanish food? Designed by haute cuisine renowned Valencian chef Cristina Ruiz Furió, this workshop will show you how to make organic and veganized versions of all your Spanish favourites as you sip on homemade Sangria and nibble vegan tapas before sitting down to enjoy your very own creations.

7th November: The Mindfulness Project Your Brain On Mindfulness lecture – Neuroscientists now know that, in contrast to the formerly held belief, our brains are constantly changing, with growing research exhibiting the potential to actually gradually rewire our brains – from the inside out – essentially the definition of mindfulness. This lecture led by medical doctor, acupuncturist, mindfulness coach and educator Dr. Barbara Mariposa will provide an in depth insight into mindfulness and how it could help us in the way we respond to situations and how we interact with ourselves and others.

9th November: Vegan Japanese Supper Club – As it was World Vegan Day on November 1st and inspired by the principles of Buddhist temple food, Hiroko, Yoshiko and Neal, the chefs behind London’s only 100% vegan Japanese restaurant Itadakizen will showcase an evening of organic vegan Japanese cuisine, locally sourced where possible. Sharing a passion for healthy, nutritious food that is cooked with integrity and respect, the trio are always trying to find sustainable and ethical ways to source items for their events, from the produce to their advertising – we love their ethos!

Monday 10th November: How To Be Creative workshop at The School Of Life – A class devised to equip attendees with practical techniques for improving creativity through a means of experimentation and discussion, this creativity inspiring workshop will explore why intuition, play and daydreaming are essential to innovation and how boredom and loneliness, commonly looked negatively upon, can actually become creativity catalysts.

12th November: Puravida Social Club – Returning this month, Pura Vida Social Club was set up by the lovely Xochi Balfour to bring together London lovers of all things mind, body and soul with music, food and creativity at the heart. Tickets include a menu of healthy vegan delicacies including a miso sesame butternut squash with citrus zest and maple, a sprouted winter salad and a raw coconut and key lime tart from one of our favourite raw food chefs Laura Coxeter.

13th November-15th November: Hacking Happiness Conference – Tapping into the zeitgeist of the ever-growing number of people exhibiting an interest in wellbeing, the Hacking Happiness conference is a series of talks and lectures covering the fields of mindfulness, meditation, nutrition and neuroscience with a focus on enhancing mental and physical performance and wellbeing. Sunday 16th November: Ballet meets yoga – Blending a ballet warm-up and workout with yoga based stretching, in this strengthening and lengthening workshop you’ll learn how to bring grace and elegance to your yoga practise whilst implementing the body toning techniques that ballet encompasses.

16th & 26th November: Naturally Sassy Cooking Classes – Join plant-based chef, healthy blogger and ballerina Saskia Gregson-Williams for a vegan cooking workshop and sit-down meal featuring some of her best recipes yet that have never been seen before on the blog. Attendees will learn about the benefits of the ingredients used and how to work them into your every day.

29th November: Made In Hackney Eating For Optimum Health Masterclass – Led by holistic chef Rebecca O’Reilly, this Autumnal workshop will focus on optimising your energy and strengthening immunity for Winter. Those attending will learn how to ward off colds and sickness with seasonal foods that strengthen digestion, boost the immune system, enhance the liver and nourish the mental energy connected to autumn.

2nd December: Black and Light Yoga Rave – An alternative Friday night out at its best, Black and Light Yoga Rave is a balance between a strong flowing yoga practice and dance, set to bring the best bits of both together, moving between the two as the night progresses. With DJ’s from the London dance scene and beyond Jivamukti teachers from around the world, this event makes for a great night out without the hangover.

6th & 7th December: Wild Food Cafe Introduction to Raw Food Weekend Immersion – Comprised of a combination of food demos, hands on food prep, interactive lectures and informal Q&A’s, back by popular demand are Wild Food Cafe’s raw food workshops designed to equip you with the tools and knowledge to include more raw into your every day. Attendees will learn how to make raw snacks, desserts (no equipment required), smoothies, fermented foods and how to master the art of the raw pizza!

7th December: Madeleine Shaw Supper Club – Join #GetYourGlow advocate Madeleine Shaw for an evening of healthy festive treats at her Christmas supper club at Grace Belgravia. Menu highlights include Christmas-y goodies such as Slow Roast Shoulder of Lamb, Nut Roast, Raw Christmas Pudding and Mini Mince Pies! Bookings are essential.

30th December – January 2nd: Journey Into Stillness New Years Retreat – Making new years plans? Treat yourself to this body, mind and spirit restoring retreat held in the beautiful Sussex countryside for a four day Journey Into Stillness. Connect with nature, reflect and explore inner stillness through meditation, yoga, breathwork and a range of alternative therapies, whilst nourishing the body from the inside out with healing tools and fresh, seasonal local produce. 11th December: A Winter Wellness Day Charity Event at Psycle London: Teaming up to bring to us a day of Winter Wellness, Deliciously Ella, Punch Foods, 26 Grains, Livia’s Crumbles and Imbibery will be hosting a delicious day of Winter Wellness and all for a good cause. Providing a healthy lunch made by the girls and a spin class followed by a Q&A session with Ella and Madeleine, the event will raise money for Single Homeless Project,  to provide food for a homeless shelter over the Christmas period. Ella will be providing ticket details via social media soon.

Secret Urban Escapes Yoga at the Gallery: Date TBC – Awaken all of your senses in this yoga class with a difference hosted by Secret Urban Escapes. Taking place in a gallery (location TBC), guests will enjoy a yoga flow in the surroundings of inspiring art work and live music followed by healthy bites provided by Retreat Cafe, refreshing juices and calming tea.
