Have you made checking your breasts part of your self care and body care routine? We caught up with the founder of breast self care brand Boobs’ Essential, Zoe Lind van’t Hof. She created her brand to inspire all women to start checking their breasts as part of their daily routine. To get her top self-care tips, we asked her why she thinks massage needs to be part of your daily routine.
The Boobs’ Essential self care products have been made with the intention to promote self-awareness, invest time to nurture yourself and to learn more about your body and breasts. By checking your breasts and massaging them daily, you are more likely to discover any changes or abnormalities. Ultimately we believe in focusing on prevention and early detection rather than only on the cure. These are my tips for use.
Self-care Tips
- Apply the oil to moist skin after bathing/showering. Put a couple of drops onto the palm of your hand and rub your hands together, inhale the oil and then massage your breasts. In order to create a routine, it is best to have a similar massage technique and pattern every time you apply the oil. Make sure to use a firm yet smooth touch and cover the entire breast from side to side and top to bottom.
- Be mindful. Whilst massaging, try and focus solely on your breasts; don’t worry about your day’s to do list or what clothes you are going to wear later. Try to be in the moment and choose or create a self-empowering mantra that you can repeat during your beauty ritual. You are looking to notice any changes.
- Be aware of what you put in your body and on your body. When it comes to self care products, we believe that one must pay as much attention to the ingredients as you would when you preparing a meal. Once you start reading labels you may choose not to use many ingredients in conventional make-up and skincare.
- Always test on a small patch of skin before checking your breasts using oil. Do not apply to broken skin.
