Evolve was founded by Laura Rudoe, who has a personal passion for organic skincare and sourcing ingredients from around the world. Evolve Beauty manufacture their natural and organic skincare formulations in-house at their UK studio, made in small batches for freshness, every Evolve product features the name of the person who made it on the bottle, making the Evolve commitment to quality both personal and transparent.
Meet the face behind Evolve Beauty, Laura Rudoe below, including an insight to her favourite products and how she sources her ingredients.

What is the ethos behind Evolve Beauty?
I created Evolve in 2009 with the vision of making beauty products that enable people to lead cleaner, greener lives by making products that are beautiful, accessible and effective. 10 years on, this mission is as relevant as ever as more and more people are integrating a clean, green philosophy into everything they do. Society is coming full circle and realising that choosing natural ingredients is better for us and our world.
Together with a small team of artisans, I design and make each product carefully by hand in our eco-studio in Hertfordshire. Our products are natural and organic, vegan, cruelty-free and eco-friendly.
Why do you choose to manufacture the products in-house in the UK instead of outsourcing?
The way we make our products is incredibly important. I know that customers trust us to do the right thing and we try to repay this trust by being incredibly careful in how we source, manufacture and package our products in every tiny detail. We make our products in small batches by hand to ensure freshness, and we make sure that every product that leaves our eco studio is of the highest quality.
Producing our products in our own eco studio is the most sustainable method of production which minimises miles travelled and allows us complete control over product quality. We choose to use wind-powered electricity and eco-friendly materials in our studio, and we employ a full-time team of dedicated and highly trained product artisans to carefully create each product.
How do you source your ingredients and decide what to avoid?
We carefully audit each and every ingredient that goes into our products (we have over 150 so this is a big job) to check its compliance with COSMOS standards as well as check it is vegan, cruelty-free and sustainably sourced. At the moment we are in the process of certification to COSMOS Organic, Vegan and Cruelty-Free International standards. COSMOS is more than just organic certification as it prohibits any questionable ingredients or contaminants and also verifies the sustainability of ingredient production.
We know what goes in the jars is important, but what about the packaging for Evolve Beauty?
Our mission is to be the greenest beauty brand out there, by integrating the greenest packaging materials as soon as they are available and making it easy to recycle and reuse our packaging wherever possible. Most of our bottles and jars are made of brown glass, sourced as close as possible to our eco studio (Europe not China) to reduce air miles. We use amber plastic 100% recycled PET bottles for our shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion as these products are used in showers and bathrooms and could present a safety hazard if they break. Our cartons are made of FSC certified Kraft paper. We are working hard to find alternatives to our plastic lids (which are recyclable but not always accepted) and our plastic sprays and pumps.
What do you always use from the range?
I am lucky enough to often have new recipes we are working on to try and my bathroom cabinet is packed full of Evolve goodies! However, I do have favourites that I always use, including the Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt, Evolve Hyaluronic Serum 200 and Evolve Miracle Facial Oil (I blend them together and use as a night treatment), and Evolve Daily Renew Facial Cream. I also always use the Evolve Superfood Shine Shampoo and Evolve Superfood Shine Conditioner for my hair.
